We returned home late (think midnight) Sunday night from our 7 night, 7 day stay in Okoboji! Weather wise, it was the greatest week ever to be on vacation at the lake with a boat.
I was going to type out the day-by-day of our vacation, but I don't want to bore the few people that actually read this. So I'll hit the highlights in a few different posts so as not to bore you.
We hit the beach....a lot. We rotated between docking at Arnold's Park and playing in the sand, visiting Jean Ann and playing on her beach, and stopping by Gull Point. I think if we vacuumed our boat right now, we could build our own small beach with what we remove from the boat. Needless to say, the boys love to play in the sand.
Gull Point with boating friends we haven't seen in awhile.
Nothing better than a little meat and cheese on the back of the boat.
Connor doing his own thing on the beach.
Some of the kids playing at Jean Ann's beach were playing on their tube. Kaden joined right in. Connor was crabby, so I thew him up on the tube with the kids and the little girl started holding his hand. He was no longer crabby.
Peanut butter sandwiches on the dock.
We build these ponds on the beach. We used to do it for Kaden, but he likes the lake now so we do it for Connor. He loves them so much that as soon as he realizes that is what you are doing, he sits in it. It makes it really hard to dig a good pond with a baby butt in the way.
