I know there are not a lot of you out there that read my thoughts. I also know that it takes a long time to organize my thoughts and type them out. And, I know that it never sounds as good as I want it to. However, I originally started this to keep track of what's going on in our lives, so 20 years from now, I remember the things that made me laugh, cry, and pull out my hair. So, my "Christmas Resolution" is to update this at least weekly.
I'm going to talk about Kaden first, because he makes me smile everyday. Kaden is a music lover through and through, which he comes by naturally. He listens to all music, and knows the words to many songs. He can sing American Band, You Shook Me All Night Long, and other tunes that Chris practiced for his band performances this summer. What he really likes, though, is country. I listen to all music, but I usually have country on. Kathi plays the local country station during the day at daycare. Well, Kaden LOVES country. He knows all the songs by "name" and can sing to many of them. The other day he said "Mom, it's the my kinda party song" after hearing only the opening notes. The kid knows his music.
Kaden started "reading" the phonebook earlier this fall. He calls it his "storm book." We used the mobile web a lot on our phones this summer to look at storms, and he always wanted to see the radar too. Well, the phone book has a map on the outside and a few on the inside, and I can only assume that he connects maps with radars and storms. I remember someone else being a little bit of a weather maniac (I used to be able to name ALL the meterologists on WHO-TV 13), but I know I was much older than he is now.
When I was pregnant with Kaden, I wanted to find out the sex and Chris did not. I let him win, but told him we would definitely find out for the second one. When I got pregnant again, I changed my mind. I didn't want to know. However, Kaden was CONVINCED that the new baby was a girl. I asked him "What if it's a boy? Will you still love him?" to which he replied "NO. I'm pretty sure it's a girl." Well, in an effort to give Kaden more time to adjust to the boy or girl thing, we decided to find out. Apparently I am meant to live in a house full of boys. :) Kaden was not happy at first, he still wanted a girl. Once I told him about all the fun stuff he could teach his brother (how to mow, how to say "Go Hawks", etc.), he came around and is now quite excited.
It's a good thing we have a lot of tvs in this house. Otherwise, I'd never get to watch what I want again. Last night I was flipping through the channels to find something to watch. I flipped right past the speed channel, which had this head to head matchup in a bunch of different categories between two sports cars. Kaden spotted it, took the remote from me, changed it back, and put the remote up. We watched that show. It's a good thing there was nothing I wanted to watch. I'll have to go upstairs when there is.
That's all for tonight. I just wanted to post somethings that have made me smile lately before I forget about them.
