Merry Christmas everyone! We had a busy week at our house. Monday Kaden and I had lunch with Papa, Whitney, Sara, Aunt Sharon, and Caleb. Aunt Sharon brought a present for Kaden to lunch. Elmo Live! This thing is really cool. It says a bunch of different things, tells stories, tells jokes, and knows when it is tipped over. He says "Uh-oh, Elmo fell down. Can you help Elmo up?" and Kaden helps him up. Every time. Then he says "Thank you. You are Elmo's best friend." It's way fun.....for Kaden and mom and dad. After lunch we headed to the eye doctor in Lake City and then back home. We made home made pizza for supper that night...very good ;)
Tuesday Kaden and I were really busy. We had to do ALL of our Christmas shopping and making and wrapping. We also took my car to Chris to fix the leaking tire and the Blazer over to wash it. whew!
Wednesday we made it to Rockwell City JUST in time for church. Ironically, the retired preist that is living in the rectory in Rockwell City said mass, and he happens to have been at St. Mary's when Chris was young. Weird! We had yummy soup and pickle wraps (and other stuff) at Mom and Dad's. It was kind of cool because it was just us. We played trivial pursuit and Kaden stayed up very late!
Christmas day we opened presents and Santa was very good to all of us. Highlights of the day were the new ladder Chris got (now we can give bubba's back to him), mommy's new shoes, the new stool for Kaden and the fireman outfit. We had Christmas dinner at Mom and Dad's for the first time in many years and had some friendly competition on the Wii. It was a lot of fun, but my arm hurt for 3 days after boxing!
We had our own Christmas when we got home Christmas afternoon. We started a fire and opened presents from Santa (he came while we were gone). Kaden has a little people city in the living room now, and we really enjoyed Christmas at our new house.
Saturday we headed to the lake to have Christmas with Nana, Blake, and Amy. We had a really good dinner and opened presents. Kaden got a lawnmower that moves on its own. He's not sure of it yet, but he'll grow to like it when Daddy's out mowing this summer. We all sat by the fire and watched Muppet Christmas Carol. After church this morning we tried taking Kaden sledding. I think he thought we were nuts. He wasn't a big fan of it. We'll try again later. Kaden can also identify everyone that was there this weekend. "Nana, Bake, Mimi, and Guck"
Now we're finally home so I thought I'd update this. Back to basketball practice tomorrow so that will keep Kaden and I busy until school starts again. The pictures are some select Christmas shots, the fireman suit, and Kaden eating at the table like a big boy on his new stool. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
