Connor did get a present, though. We learned 2 valuable lessons at our house this month. 1. Waiting almost 4 years to have the 2nd child will make it harder to re-use some of your baby gear. We had to replace the monitor when it quit working after 2 weeks. 2. Kaden is too big to be supporting his weight on a baby bouncer. So, we had to replace the $10 bouncer I bought on a garage sale almost 4 years ago.
The bouncer was somewhat of a necessity, however, as Connor has developed amazing spitting up skills and it is in our best interest to keep him upright after eating. Kaden hardly ever spit up. We use entire blankets as burp rags for Connor. We've even put books under the legs of one end of his crib so he doesn't lay flat.
In other news, Connor has some other amazing skills. He can burp like a drunk man. He eats like a champ, and is really talented at gaining weight. On Tuesday, we took him to Watch Me Grow, a program at the hosptial so you can get your child weighed and measured once a month. His official 1 month stats: 12 pounds 4 ounces, 23 1/2 inches long. He was 9 pounds 4 ounces on April 11 at his Dr. appt. He gained 3 pounds in 3 weeks. He is also 2 and 1/2 inches longer than he was at birth. He was in the 97th percentil for both. Kaden has never even seen the 90th percentile.
Other random facts about Connor:
*He enjoys naps lying on my chest.
*He has already been to Kathi's twice and had a babysitter at home twice.
*We are using his little tub for baths. He enjoys it as long as you keep pouring water over him to keep him warm.
*His neck strength is amazing.
*He is really strong. When trying to burp him sitting up, he can throw his weight around and be really hard to keep ahold of.
*He spits up on Daddy.....a lot.
*He usually sleeps about 4 hours when we first go to bed for the night. After that it is every 2-3 hours. Usually we sleep from 11-3 and from 3:30- 6:00.
*We've made a trip to Omaha and a trip to Rockwell City. Connor has spent a lot of time at school with Mommy.
Here is a picture I took of him last night. He continues to look like Kaden, with the exception of his cheeks and belly.
Oh! Your little guy is adorable, too! We lost touch for a while! Glad you found my photo blog. I made my other blog private but if you send me your email address, I can add you. It's fun to keep up with the lives of people you haven't seen for, what, 25 years??? :) Tell your folks hello!
