Next, I thought I would give you a peek at a day in the life of Kaden Brown. We get up around 7:00. We get dressed, tell Daddy and the puppy "Goodbye I love you," and head out the door. I drop him off at Kathi's where he eats breakfast, plays a lot, and eats lunch before I pick him up around noon.
We come home and read a book (or 3). Then Kaden heads upstairs to take his nap. This is quite the task. As we head upstairs, he lays his head on my shoulder and is very calm. When we get into his room and I ask for a kiss, he says "no...cuddle mommy." I lay him down and head downstairs. He usually yells for a little bit, but then he sleeps for an hour or 2.
When he wakes up, we try to find something to do. Sometimes we head to the grocery store, sometimes we head to a playground. This is his new favorite thing to do. He really likes the new Awaysis playground in Storm Lake, but the Alta school playground works too. Sometimes we just go outside so he can ride his bike. Daddy comes home around 5:30 or so and is greeted enthusiastically at the door. The evening routine depends on the night and which one of us is home. (We are RARELY home at the same time). We spend lots of evenings outside playing.
Now for Kaden's current likes and dislikes.
*Likes*
*Applesauce- the kid goes through applesauce at an incredible rate.
*Grilled cheese and tomoto soup
*cereal- I bought some generic lucky charms the other day and he kept asking for cereal at all times of the day.
*Reading books- He just recently got to the point that he will sit and really become involved in the book. Some pages he even know the words before I get to them.
*Dancing- Anytime there is music he will dance. On our way to a wedding the other day he said "mommy- want dance" He even dances to music on commercials. (side note- he is trying to get me to dance at the table right now to the music on TV.)
*Drinking out of a big boy cup at the table.
*Playing on his swing set. He can climb the stairs and go down the slide all by himself now.
*Twinkle Twinkle LIttle Star- He is always trying to get me to sing this song and sometimes sings it himself.
*Gofing- He loves to go with us to golf. He washes the balls with the ballwasher on the cart and follows us to the green. You have to be careful though. He likes to pick up your ball and put it in the hole for you.
*Being outside in general. It's a struggle to get him to come inside.
*Playgrounds. He asks for them now. "mommy paygound" He gets a little more brave everytime we go to one. This weekend in Omaha he was going down all the slides by himself.
*His cousins Hannah and Madison. Every time I have my computer out he sits on my lap and says "hannah madson hannah madson " repeatedly until I go to the website to look at pictures. He got to meet them this weekend finally....but more about that later.
*Dislikes*
*Being told no
*Sharing his food with mommy
*coming inside
*When it rains- he can't go outside
